Brahim Diaz Out for Three Months After Groin Injury Against Real Sociedad
Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz is set to be sidelined for three months after suffering a significant groin injury during the club’s 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad.
The 24-year-old was forced to exit the game just 24 minutes in after feeling discomfort in his right leg, leaving fans concerned about his fitness.
On Monday, Real Madrid confirmed the extent of Diaz’s injury, with tests revealing damage to the abductor longus muscle in his right leg.
“His progress will be monitored closely,” the club said in an official statement. Spanish media reports indicate that he will need around three months to recover fully.
The injury comes as a blow to Diaz, who was making a rare start due to the absences of Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni.
With his future at the club still uncertain, this setback could complicate his chances of securing regular playing time under Carlo Ancelotti once he’s fit again.
Fortunately for Los Blancos, Bellingham and Tchouameni are expected to be fit in time for the team’s Champions League opener against Stuttgart on Tuesday.
However, Real Madrid will still be without David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga, and Dani Ceballos, who remain sidelined with injuries.
Despite Diaz’s misfortune, Real Madrid continues to perform impressively, with Kylian Mbappe’s impact evident.
The Frenchman netted a crucial penalty against Real Sociedad, his third goal in two matches, helping Madrid maintain their unbeaten start to the La Liga season.
Diaz will now focus on rehabilitation, hoping to return stronger in 2024 as Madrid pursues domestic and European glory.
