The Frenchman has been in and out of Real Madrid’s lineup since the beginning of the season due to repeated injuries, and Eduardo Camavinga has been no different. Camavinga was just beginning to regain his agility when he was permanently ruled out due to a torn muscle.
In an attempt to support the midfield against Getafe on Wednesday night, the 22-year-old entered the game but was taken out in the closing moments following a clash with Luis Milla. Real Madrid’s teammates were quick to indicate that he needed medical assistance after he began to exhibit obvious signs of agony. Following the match, Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged that the prognosis was not good and that he and David Alaba were almost eliminated from this Saturday’s Copa del Rey final.
But the results of Camavinga’s diagnosis have been considerably worse. He suffers a full rupture of a tendon in his hamstring, Real Madrid declared on Thursday. Diario AS claims that he will be sidelined for at least three months as a result, meaning he will miss the remainder of the season. That includes the Club World Cup, which starts in mid-June and ends on July 14; in the best-case scenario, Camavinga will be returning to full fitness by then.
Real Madrid confirm Eduardo Camavinga injury
Real Madrid has not given a timeline for Camavinga’s potential return, but Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims the midfield player will likely miss the rest of the 2024–25 season as well as the Club World Cup.
Real Madrid has six more games left in the season. They will play Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday, followed by Celta Vigo, Barcelona, Mallorca, Sevilla, and Real Sociedad in their final five league games.
Camavinga’s recovery in time to play this season is thought to be nearly impossible due to the severity of the issue; Real Madrid’s final La Liga match is currently set for May 24.
Following that, Los Blancos will play in the Club World Cup in mid-June. On June 18, they will play their first match against Al Hilal, and they will also play Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg in Group H.
Since the capital giants suffered a serious injury blow at such a pivotal point in the season, Camavinga is not anticipated to be seen wearing a Real Madrid shirt until the 2025–26 campaign begins.
