Despite four consecutive league wins closing the gap to Barcelona, shaky performances and cup exits to Albacete and Benfica have raised early doubts.

According to reports from Cadena Cope, Mbappe was notably happier under previous coach Xabi Alonso than he is with the current setup.

The French superstar publicly defended Alonso following the former manager’s dismissal, insisting Alonso “had not failed” and would become “a fantastic manager.”

This stance appears to reflect his personal sentiment in the dressing room, suggesting a less satisfied view of Arbeloa’s early tenure.

However, Mbappe’s view may not represent the majority. Multiple reports indicate Arbeloa’s arrival has actually reduced tension at the club’s training ground and improved the overall atmosphere.

The former defender has earned goodwill by fiercely protecting his players, including a strong defense of Vinicius Junior from recent criticism.

The central challenge for Arbeloa now is converting a better mood into convincing performances.

Some players reportedly remain skeptical about his long-term tactical ideas, with instructions on the pitch sometimes failing to inspire.

While new methods require an adjustment period, the team’s inconsistent displays highlight this ongoing transition.

As Real Madrid continues its title pursuit, Arbeloa must not only secure points but also win over any remaining skeptics like Mbappe to cement his authority beyond the interim label.
