With a €150 million release clause, Real Madrid will face challenges from Chelsea and Manchester City for Portuguese forward battle

The last 18 months or so have seen an increase in Rafael Leao’s stock. The Portuguese star has been in excellent form for AC Milan, and he helped the team win the Serie A championship last season.

Naturally, prominent clubs around Europe are showing a lot of interest in the 23-year-old due to his performances.

Leao has known admirers, including Real Madrid, who are competing with Chelsea and Manchester City to sign the Milan forward.

The 23-year-contract old’s with the Rossoneri will expire next summer, and he has not yet reached an agreement on a new one. Additionally, according to Plettenberg’s source, the forward has no interest in extending his contract past the summer of 2024. Milan could have to sell him the following year in order to prevent the possibility of losing him for nothing the following year.

The Real Madrid offices will undoubtedly be intrigued by this development. The Santiago Bernabeu has Vinicius Jr. locked down on the left wing. However, a new attacker might be a smart addition given that Marco Asensio’s future is also up in the air and Eden Hazard is most certainly leaving shortly.
