Thibaut Courtois has blamed the referee for their 1-1 draw versus Elche.
The Belgium international goalkeeper said, “They whistle us a penalty for a small grab, when in the first half there is a grab equal on (Karim) Benzema and he does not whistle anything.
“That is not correct. If you whistle one, you have to whistle the other. It seems that there are referees who like to whistle those things.”
In Courtois’ opinion, Vázquez put off his teammates: “Perhaps in the second half we were too aware of what the referee was doing. Hurt? We cannot be because we come off a very good streak.”
Zidane also urged for calm after the draw and cited that many teams will lose points still.
“The season is very long, there is a lot to do,” Zidane told Movistar. “All teams are going to lose points.
“We have to continue our business, keep fighting, we are going to lose points and that’s why we have to continue.
“We come from many good games, with good results, today there was a break but we have to continue.
“We have had chances to kill the game, but that’s how it is, when they scored the goal, they went back and it was very difficult.
“Before we had chances to score the second, we didn’t and this is football.”
