Sergio Ramos And Real Madrid To Make Contract Breakthrough Soon

Sergio Ramos is in the final year of his contract with Real Madrid and both parties are at the negotiation table.

According to Dario AS, Ramos is set to reveal the details behind his future soon.

He is currently on international duty for Spain and is due to play against Germany next in the United Nations League. Both his representatives and the Real staff have been at a distance over his contract extension for some time.

Real’s policy for players above the age of 30 is to only hand them a year-long extension. Sergio Ramos being their most dominant defensive force is eligible for special treatment. He is the club captain and their senior-most player right after Luka Modric at 34.

Ramos has demanded for a two-year deal with the impression that he will retire in the Galactico colours. He is edging towards the end of his career and would like to see it out with the club he began with.

Florentino Perez is expected to address this issue publicly as well. Currently, Real are only willing to talk whenever there is a break from the hectic 2020/21 season schedule or after it is over. Ramos might have to reduce his wage demands if he wants a deal stretching until June 2023.
