Sergio Ramos Has Turned Down Contract Offer From Real Madrid

According to the latest reports, Sergio Ramos has turned down Real Madrid’s latest offer.

The Galacticos had put forth a two-year deal on the table but were unable to convince their skipper.

Mundo Deportivo via Siro Lopez for COPE claimed that Real’s terms came with a mandatory 10% paycut but Ramos is demanding his current salary of €12m per year. This might be the end of the line for Los Blancos after months of heavy negotiations.

Neither parties seem to be arriving at an agreement and with his deal ending in June, Ramos is likely to be out of Madrid. David Alaba is his likely replacement after he notified Bayern Munich about his wishes to leave.

Alaba, 28 would arrive on a free transfer after finishing out his contract with the European champions. Ramos, on the other hand, is attracting interest from PSG and Manchester United.

Ramos is in his 16th season with Real and is their team captain. With over 650 appearances for the club, he has reached legendary status at the Bernabeu. He has won 5 La Liga trophies, 4 Champions League trophies and two Copa del Reys. At 35, he is still churning out displays at the highest level.
