According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur is allegedly interested in acquiring Real Madrid player Antonio Rudiger. In 2022, after winning a Champions League title and other major cup tournaments with Chelsea, the 32-year-old moved as a free agent to the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.
Over the past several years, the German has also had success in the Spanish capital, winning many major cup tournaments, a La Liga title, and a Champions League trophy. However, rumours about Rudiger’s future have begun to surface in recent months because his current contract is scheduled to expire at the conclusion of this season.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham is now considering strengthening their defence, since both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been linked to departures due to the team’s recent difficulties. If the Lilywhites are ultimately forced to cash in on Romero or Van de Ven, they are “extremely keen” to pursue a seasoned player like Rudiger as a free agent.

Relegation would also eliminate their chances of acquiring the former Chelsea player; thus, their pursuit appears to be dependent on the fates of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. As the German enters the latter months of his Real Madrid contract, Saudi Arabia is also expected to show a great deal of interest in the upcoming weeks.
Earlier this week, Football Insider reported that Tottenham is considering its centre-back alternatives in case it loses Romero and Van de Ven this summer. After criticising the Lilywhites’ management, the former have seen rumours of a transfer to Atletico Madrid resurface in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Van de Ven is being pursued by teams like Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Although the two have been important members of the North Londoners in recent years, speculation that they may leave is intensifying in the wake of yet another incredibly dismal domestic campaign. Rudiger seems to have been identified as a possible target for Tottenham, who are currently evaluating their options about possible replacements for their present starting lineup.
