Vinicius Junior Claims Own As His In Important Sevilla Win

Vinicius Junior claimed Real Madrid’s win over Sevilla should have been credited to him.

In the 1-0 win, the goal was ticked off as a Bono own goal.

“It’s mine,” Vinicius said after the match. “Of course it is. I hit the shot and the goal is mine.”

Overall, it was a really important three points after a very difficult run of games for Real Madrid. While their rivals Barcelona dropped points against Cadiz, they kept themselves in the title fight with Atletico only six points ahead now.

“It’s an important victory for our confidence,” Vinicius added. “There have been other games in which we’ve played well but not won.

“We don’t doubt ourselves at all and we went out to win. It’s a different season from others. We have a game every three days and sometimes it’s hard to get going. We have to keep on improving.”

Zinedine Zidane has hailed his players’ characters. After two consecutive defeats to Alaves and Shakhtar Donetsk, a win was really necessary. Their Champions League hopes lie on very thin ice, depending on what happens next on Wednesday.

Real will have to beat Borussia Monchengladbach to go through to the knockout stages and nothing else will do.
