Zinedine Zidane was a happy man as Real Madrid eked out a 1-0 win over Valladoid.
It saw Real cut down Atletico’s lead at the top to just 6 points after Simeone’s men suffered a 2-0 loss to Levante.
“We have to continue what we’re doing,” said Zidane. “It’s an important victory for us. It’s the fourth in a row and we have to continue what we’re doing without worrying about the others.
“There are no easy games. Valladolid is a team that also needs points. The match was tough. We’re going to have to play them all to the limit and we’re going to have tough games between now and the end of the season. But we know that and today we can be happy with what we did, with the result and above all with keeping a clean sheet.”
On Casemiro, Zizou added: “We know what a good player he is and the position he can play. We know he can finish like he did for the goal and what his role is. But it’s also everyone’s job. I’m pleased for the whole team. In the end we got another good result and we have to continue like this.”
