Zidane Not Surprised By Mbappe's Hat-trick Against Barcelona

Zinedine Zidane was the least bit surprised by Kylian Mbappe’s heroics at Camp Nou.

The PSG forward grabbed headlines when he put three goals past Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 first leg tie.

There was already heavy speculation regarding Mbappe’s future and his links to Real Madrid. He is under contract for one more season with the coming summer an important moment in his career.

Zinedine Zidane had no doubts that his compatriot was already a top player. He said, “I’m not surprised by what Mbappé did at the Camp Nou.”

“I watch all the games and I enjoy it when I see good things. But that is just like all the fans.

“Do I prefer Mbappe or Haaland? Well, as I was saying, what I like is to see good players and they are two players of the present and of the future, but I’m not going to answer who I prefer. The important thing is that these players are excellent.

“Am I motivated by being Mbappe’s idol? As always, I have already answered many times about that.”

Real Madrid has plenty of transfer targets for the next transfer window but their primary one will be Mbappe.
