David Alaba joins Real Madrid on a free transfer.

The 28-year old versatile defender signs a five-year contract with Real Madrid that will earn him around £10.5m per year.

He has been a mainstay at Bayern since 2008 and has turned down to extend his contract this season.

Alaba won 10 Bundesliga titles, two Champions Leagues and six German Cups.

He has been an influential figure for the Bundesliga giants making more than 400 appearances for the club.

The Austrian arrives at Bernabeu with doubts over the future of both of the club’s first-choice centre-backs.
