Kepa Arrizabalaga set to return in Madrid XI despite Lunin's form

Kepa Arrizabalaga was not part of the previous La Liga game due to a muscle injury.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is planning to recall Kepa Arrizabalaga as goalkeeper. Los Blancos secured an emphatic win over Cadiz last weekend and Andriy Lunin was the first-choice goalkeeper.

Chelsea loanee has established himself as the first choice for Ancelotti this season. He joined Los Blancos on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea to cover Thibaut Courtois’s injury.

Thibaut Courtois will take time to recover and he might miss out the entire season. Kepa was not part of the previous La Liga game due to a muscle injury he faced in the warm-up for their 3-0 Champions League win over Braga.

Lunin conceded only one goal in his absence but Kepa is back to the main position. Ancelotti is in no doubt over who his No.1 is this season.

“If Kepa is available, he will play. The important thing is that Lunin was ready when Kepa was injured, but I think Kepa will return for the game against Granada”, as per reports from Marca.
