Big blow to Ancelotti as Real Madrid confirms long-term Vinicius Jr injury

Vinicius Jr picked up the injury against Celta Vigo last weekend.

Real Madrid faces a big blow as their main striker Vinicius Jr is out for around six weeks due to injury. Real Madrid has officially confirmed the news that the Brazilian star has sustained an injury to his right thigh.

The statement read, “Following tests carried out on our player Vini. Jr by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the right biceps femoris muscle. Pending evolution.”

Vinicius picked up the injury against Celta Vigo last weekend during Real Madrid’s latest La Liga match. The 23-year-old had to be taken off in the 18th minute due to said injury.

Following the scan results and the update on his injury, journalist Arancha Rodriguez is reporting that the Brazilian striker could be out for as many as six weeks.

Carlo Ancelotti will face a problem in fixing the XI in the upcoming weeks. He can make a switch to 4-2-3-1 instead of 4-3-3. It will be a big blow to Los Blancos. Real Madrid are standing at the top of the table with three wins out of three games.
