Eden Hazard has picked up yet another injury at Real Madrid.
Marca stated that the Belgian had to leave training after picking up a knock this week.
This makes it 17 games out of 30 he has missed with injuries this season alone. Hazard’s arrival at Real is not going to plan at all. Los Blancos dished out a record fee to get him from Chelsea where he was hailed as a hero.
Hazard wanted the Madrid move to fulfill his childhood dream of playing for the club and working under idol, Zinedine Zidane. In his second season, the dream already looks like a nightmare with fans starting to question his involvement.
The 29-year-old has not been able to hit his best stride in Madrid either. He is a joy to watch when in full flow but it has been a while since we have seen that out of him. Even when present, Hazard takes time to influence the game.
His injury troubles are reminiscent of what Real faced with Gareth Bale. With a poor fitness record, Hazard is dangerously close to falling into the list of flops at the Spanish capital. Let’s hope he can bounce back and prove his doubters wrong.
