Real Madrid could consider Fran Garcia as a potential candidate for the left back position next season

Fran Garcia kept an eye on Barcelona’s right wrong when they played Rayo Vallecano earlier this week

The left-back for the home team not only played well defensively but also scored a fantastic goal against Xavi’s team to secure his team’s victory.

It is hardly surprise that Real Madrid’s offices are buzzing over their newest acquisition given his consistency and ability to perform at a high level even against great opponents. That hasn’t always been the case, though.

There were questions about his profile for a while following his signing, and there were even rumours that the club may sell him right away in June. There has been a change, and according to MARCA, the club has huge ambitions for the youngster.

The Spanish publication claims that Los Blancos view Fran Garcia as a more than qualified contender to play as a left-back the next season. They see his signing as a “bargain” and expect he will put pressure on Ferland Mendy. The Merengues used their right of first refusal to buy Garcia from Rayo Vallecano during the winter transfer window for just €5 million. Although he will finish the season at Vallecas, he is anticipated to arrive in Madrid right away.

The 21-year-old is a graduate of Real Madrid’s youth programme, so he is already familiar with the club’s beliefs and traditions. His familiarity with the team may make it simpler for him to fit in and make an immediate contribution. He even proposed that if Nacho Fernandez renewed his contract, the Frenchman would leave. Naturally, Garcia has a good chance of being the team’s starting left-back in the upcoming campaign.
