Real Madrid provides injury update on Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao

Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao will miss out the entire season due to injury.

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has spoken on the fitness of Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao. Both are on course to be available before the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Thibaut Courtois is sidelined for a longer time and Kepa is handling the duties with gloves. He suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury at the start of August.

On the other hand, Militao was diagnosed with the same problem when he left the field against Athletic Bilbao in the team’s campaign opener.

Now, things are clear that the duo will miss out the entire season due to injury. Their recovery process is long. Real Madrid will try to make some investments ahead of the January transfer window.

Carlo Ancelotti talked to the reports and said, “We don’t have any plans for the winter market. We should keep in mind that Courtois and Militao will come back. I don’t know when, but they’ll be back before the end of the season. In the summer, I hope we’ll do something.

Kepa Arrizabalaga was signed on a season-long loan from Chelsea. The Spaniard is team’s new number one ahead of Andriy Lunin. Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and Nacho are leading the defense in the absence of Militao.

Ancelotti also answered on Real Madrid’s attacking options and lack of goals. He said, “We have to be patient, as there are times when a forward scores every they touch and times when they’re less effective.”

“Rodrygo shoots more than any player in La Liga, so he is moving well and coming close, even if the shot isn’t always going in. We’ve improved a lot in defence so aren’t conceding as many, and that means you don’t have to score as many.”
