The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing a loan deal for the Serbian attacker, who has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter for Los Blancos this season.
Jovic has had another poor season at Madrid, frequently falling behind Karim Benzema in Carlo Ancelotti’s pecking order.
This season, the 24-year-old has made 15 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring one goal and assisting on two occasions.
The Serbian striker has been a consistent fixture on Real Madrid’s bench, which explains why he averages 0.7 shots, 0.4 critical passes, and 0.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga.
However, he deserves credit for being tidy with his link-up play after completing 79.2% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top-flight.
Jovic’s efforts off the bench have grabbed the eye at times, so Los Blancos would be prudent to keep him until they can find a suitable replacement. Ancelotti’s first-choice striker is now Karim Benzema, with Jovic and Marino Diaz providing support on the bench. As a result, if Real Madrid is to fight for numerous titles in the second half of the season, the manager will need to rely on Jovic’s skills.
All things considered, Real Madrid should not consider allowing Jovic go this month, even if a loan transfer would be beneficial to the player’s confidence.
