Ancelotti optimistic about Rodrygo’s Injury ahead of Man City clash

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has given a positive update on attacker Rodrygo’s injury situation ahead of the important Champions League quarter-final second leg against Manchester City.

The Brazilian talent missed training due to a knock sustained during an excellent performance in the severe 3-3 tie with City.

Ancelotti assured fans that Rodrygo’s absence would not be lengthy, hinting at a possible return for the weekend’s match against Mallorca. This news will come as a relief to Madrid fans, who rely on Rodrygo’s attacking flair in important matches.

“Rodrygo suffered a knock yesterday, but will be available [against Mallorca], like the entire squad,” Ancelotti revealed.

“The priority is tomorrow, not Manchester. This week we have a lot at stake, but like all teams. We maintain the confidence of a few days ago and, I repeat, tomorrow is vital.”

“I repeat what I said: they are all available and tomorrow I will put in the best team,” Ancelotti vowed.

“Militao is also available.”

In addition, Ancelotti hinted at a possible return for center-back Eder Militao, who has been sidelined for eight months due to an ACL injury. The Italian strategist showed Militao may make his season debut, which would be a huge step forward in his return.

When asked if a start against Mallorca or City would be too much of a rush for Militao, Ancelotti responded:

“It’s something we have to think about, of course, but Eder has worked hard and is physically fit.

“If I see a healthy player, I don’t think about the minutes he has spent or the time he has accumulated in training. I played [Sami] Khedira, who was coming off an injury, in a Champions League final and I did it because I saw he was healthy at that moment.

“Obviously, [Militao] can’t play 90 minutes, that’s complicated, but he can last a good part of the game.”

With Rodrygo’s potential availability and Militao’s impending return, Ancelotti aims to bolster Madrid’s squad depth ahead of the decisive showdown with Manchester City.

As the stakes rise in the Champions League, Ancelotti’s optimism injects a sense of confidence into the Madrid camp as they prepare for a crucial period in their season.
