Real Madrid star yet to make a final call on his career at Bernabeu

Luka Modric has also been offered the chance to form part of Ancelotti’s coaching staff next season.

Real Madrid star Luka Modric is yet to make a decision on his future in the Spanish Capital. His contract at Bernabeu will expire at the end of the season.

The 38-year-old has been an outstanding figure for the club but got a short role this season in the engine room. He is not considered to be a starter for the club.

The Croatia international appeared 36 times across all competitions, and he was handed a start against Mallorca in La Liga on Saturday evening.

He was on the bench against Man City in the Champions League quarterfinal. He will be in substitute in the second leg of this game because Aurelien Tchouameni is suspended.

Ancelotti is trusting Eduardo Camavinga, Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde in the midfield area. Kroos is set to sign a new contract but Modric is expected to leave the club.

As per journalist Matteo Moretto, the Croatia international has not made a final call, as he has also been offered the chance to form part of Carlo Ancelotti’s coaching staff next season.

“Luka Modric has not made a decision 100% yet. There are possibilities outside of Europe for Modric, and there was the advert from Dinamo Zagreb too, but he will have the chance to leave Europe,” Moretto told Football Espana.

“As we know, Carlo Ancelotti asked whether he would be interested in joining his coaching staff in January. Real Madrid will retain Toni Kroos, he will renew.

“Modric is considering the role he could have next season with Real Madrid. Right now he isn’t playing much, he doesn’t have the role that he used to, and he’s weighing up how that might change too. He will think it over.”
