Real Madrid is faced with a difficult decision over the future of Austrian defender David Alaba. This season, the dynamic player has had a poor season marked by injuries and a challenged performance in the derby against Atletico Madrid, which remains their lone loss of the season. The versatile footballer arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agency from Bayern Munich in 2021.

Alaba continues to be an ongoing starter under coach Carlo Ancelotti despite the ups and downs, helping the defense perform significantly better than it did the season before. At 31, Alaba still has a lot to give at the highest level, and his contract is set to expire in 2026.

However, recent rumours link him to a move to the Saudi Pro League. Real Madrid, which is known for making transfer decisions based on the best offer, is said to value Alaba at €70 million, an amount they would consider taking in order to part ways with the defender who signed on a free transfer.

As the transfer window approaches, David Alaba’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu remains uncertain, leaving Real Madrid fans awaiting for the club’s decision.
