Ancelotti irritated by poor defensive pattern developing in Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid is in doubt, with some predicting he will leave at the end of the season. Despite Ancelotti’s stated desire to stay in command, the end of his contract without negotiations for an extension puts doubt on his position. The situation is complicated further by Brazil’s growing involvement.

The Brazilian Football Confederation’s President, Ednaldo Rodrigues, has openly declared that Ancelotti is a top candidate for the role of Brazil’s national team manager, either before or after the upcoming Copa America tournament. This development has increased the interest around Real Madrid’s management situation.

In the unlikely scenario that Ancelotti leaves, Real Madrid hired Fluminense manager Fernando Diniz as an interim answer. Miguel Angel Diaz stated in an interview with Cadena Cope that Ancelotti’s exit from Real Madrid is anticipated at the end of the season. While no official agreement has been reached with Brazil, Diaz has stated that Ancelotti may be required to react to Brazil’s offer by December 31st.

If Ancelotti leaves Real Madrid, the list of potential replacements is short. Zinedine Zidane, Jose Mourinho, and Raul Gonzalez have all been suggested as possible contenders. Xabi Alonso, who is currently at Bayer Leverkusen, has emerged as the front-runner to take over at the Spanish club.
