Jude Bellingham facing a spell on sidelines with ankle injury

Bellingham was replaced in the 57th minute of the game after suffering an ankle sprain.

Real Madrid faces a big blow ahead of Champions League knockouts. Los Blancos have confirmed that Jude Bellingham is facing a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury. He will take time to recover.

The Englishman picked up an ankle injury during Saturday’s La Liga contest with Girona. The young talent scored a brace in his side’s 4-0 win against the title contenders. He was replaced in the 57th minute of the game after suffering an ankle sprain.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti speaks after the game that he was still hopeful of having the in-form midfielder available for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.

The former Dortmund star has scored 20 times and registered eight assists in 29 appearances for Real Madrid this season.

Real Madrid’s statement reads, “Following tests carried out today on Jude Bellingham by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a sprain in his left ankle. His recovery from him will be monitored.”

As per Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 20-year-old is set to be on the sidelines for the next two to three weeks. It means, he may miss crucial games for Real Madrid.
