Jones thinks that Real Madrid are in the driving seat to sign Jude Bellingham.
Jude Bellingham is now a hot property in the transfer market and Real Madrid are leading the race for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.
Bellingham is currently playing for Real Madrid. He netted his first England goal in their 6-2 World Cup win against Iran. His current form is saying that there’s expected to be a war over his signature at the end of the season.
Bellingham joined Borussia Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020 and this season, he became part of the England squad.
The Three Lions midfielder has scored nine goals for Dortmund in 22 games and hasn’t missed a single minute in the German top-flight so far this season.
Bellingham started in Gareth Southgate’s England squad at the World Cup. The 19-year-old midfielder is linked with various top clubs in Europe but Madrid takes the first spot.
Jones thinks that Real Madrid are in the driving seat and told GIVEMSPORT: “Real Madrid have been very confident that they lead the way in this.
“From a personal point of view, that probably is the case. I think that they probably do lead the race in terms of persuading the player’s camp to consider them.”
Bellingham is linked with Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea. However, According to reports in Spain, Madrid could be put off by the £130million price tag on Bellingham and are not prepared to meet Dortmund’s valuation of the player.
Manchester City can spoil the party for Real Madrid. Pep Guardiola has penned a two-year contract extension. It means the former Catalan coach would back this move. Haaland has also discussed this with his former teammate. Both players have played together for Dortmund.
