Real Madrid has added Fran Garcia to their roster this summer, but they are still looking to acquire another left-back since they have grown irritated with Ferland Mendy’s struggles with form and fitness

This is why Manchester United and Real Madrid are expected to compete for the services of Inter Milan defender Federico Dimarco, according to Miguel Delaney of The Independent.

In the midst of a challenging financial scenario, Inter Milan is under pressure to make some significant sales this summer. And Dimarco, a revelation for the UEFA Champions League champions last season, is regarded as one of the club’s most marketable assets.

Dimarco is primarily a left-back but has the versatility to play as a wing-back or even a center-back. The 25-year-old Italian’s performance from 50 games in the 2022–23 season, which included six goals and 10 assists, demonstrated his productivity. Real Madrid and Manchester United are interested in his situation as a result, and they have already gotten in touch with the Nerazzurri to discuss the prospect of a transfer.

Mendy’s condition has angered Los Blancos, as was previously known, and they are willing to sell him this summer or use him as a pawn in a scheme to sign a different player. Carlo Ancelotti’s team will require a stand-in left-back because David Alaba no longer wants to play that position. Alphonso Davies had been targeted, but luring him away from Bayern Munich this summer seems challenging. As a result, the prospect of moving Dimarco—whose market value is €35 million—is being considered.

Even though they already have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, two excellent left-backs, Man United is also interested in him. The Red Devils are considering a move because they view his adaptability as a strength and think it will enhance the dynamics of their group. It’s likely that Dimarco will move this summer because Inter has to make sales. It will be interesting to watch if Real Madrid does take serious action regarding their interest in the Italian.
