Zidane insists he doesn’t regret playing Hazard and Ramos against Chelsea.
Ramos hasn’t played a match in six weeks while Hazard has endured another injury-laden campaign this year.
The duo didn’t look fit on the pitch and Hazard’s performance was well below-par.
But Zidane doesn’t regret playing both Ramos and Hazard as he feels both of them were fit and ready.
‘We were playing a semi-final and every player was ready, they wouldn’t have played if they were not,’ Zidane told reporters.
‘We can all be proud of the players, we gave it our best shot and we got here, to within one step of the final. Chelsea put in a great performance and you have to congratulate them.
‘Eden has to get his confidence back and he needs to keep playing. Little by little, we have to make sure he recovers,’
‘Our shape was very clear, we’ve played many games like this but today we lost lots of individual battles and we were missing something. We tried but it was a very demanding game.’
Eden Hazard issued an apology for laughing with his former teammates after Real Madrid exit.
“I am sorry. I have read a lot of opinions about me today and it wasn’t my intention to offend Real Madrid fans,” Hazard wrote on Instagram.
“It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid and I came here to win.
“The season is not over and together we must now battle for La Liga. Hala Madrid!”
