Carlo Ancelotti has spoken on the future of Eden Hazard amid interest from Arsenal
Since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea, the Belgian winger has struggled, scoring only six goals in 65 games. Hazard was widely considered as one of the finest players in the world during his time at Chelsea, but he has battled to get into Real Madrid’s first team in recent years.
According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal were mulling a bid for the Real Madrid winger, and Ancelotti has now spoken out on Hazard’s future at the club, as shown in the tweet below from Fabrizio Romano.
Despite his poor form and previous injuries, Ancelotti has promised Hazard would remain at the club. According to the BBC, the 31-year-old joined Real Madrid for a cost in the region of £150 million, so the Spanish giants may be trying to give him one final opportunity or risk incurring a large loss on the player.
Real Madrid have very little possibility of recouping even a fraction of what they paid for him, so they will be hoping Ancelotti can recapture the form he showed when at Chelsea.
