Chelsea is interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde this summer

This summer, the club has welcomed Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Angelo, and Diego Moreira, but the exit door has been far busier, with 14 exits. Lesley Ugochukwu, a midfielder for Rennes, and Chelsea have agreed to terms on a €27 million transfer fee for the 19-year-old.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea has not made up its mind over whether the 19-year-old will join Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team roster or be sent out on loan. Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo is a target for the Blues, but the Seagulls are seeking £100 million for the Ecuadorian international.

According to a source, Caicedo will now ‘ask’ Brighton to ‘reduce’ their assessment of him after Chelsea’s third offer of £80 million was turned down on Thursday. Additionally, Chelsea is also interested in bringing Real Madrid midfielder Valverde to Stamford Bridge this summer, according to the Spanish daily Nacional.

Liverpool reportedly made a €80 million offer for the Uruguayan international this summer, and Saudi Arabian teams Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli each made a €100 million offer. Real Madrid has reportedly rejected multiple offers for the player. In an effort to ‘break down the resistance’ being offered by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is now said to have ‘drafted’ a bid of €130 million to recruit Valverde. To make Valverde “one of the best paid” players in the Premier League, it is believed that the Blues are willing to quadruple his pay.

Jackson, 22, joins Chelsea on an eight-year agreement from Villarreal after scoring 12 goals for the La Liga team last season. Arsenal icon Paul Merson is happy about the move. Prior to joining Villarreal in September 2019, he began his career with the Casa Sports team of the Senegal Premier League. He made 38 appearances for the club across all competitions during a good season with the Spanish team, and he was selected to play for Senegal at the World Cup.
