Arda Guler, a new acquisition for Real Madrid, has officially announced that he will be returning to Spain from the preseason tour of the United States due to a meniscus injury to his right knee
Guler, who has been with the team for less than a month, made a good impression during preseason practise before departing for the US trip. The 18-year-old hasn’t worked out with the rest of the team since last Saturday, though.
Although the club did not provide much information regarding the severity of his injury, it was implied that he was only experiencing slight discomfort and that nothing more serious was wrong.
However, it was sufficient for the young prodigy to be excluded from tonight’s El Clasico against Barcelona and to miss the two friendlies against AC Milan and Manchester United.
According to reports from earlier today, Guler had been working out harder in the hopes of returning against Juventus in the final match of the preseason tour. To continue his recovery, Los Blancos has decided that the new acquisition should go back to Spain.
“Our player Arda Güler has been identified as having a right knee internal meniscus injury following the examinations done on him. In the upcoming hours, the athlete will go to Madrid to continue receiving specialised care, according to an official statement. How long Guler will be sidelined due to the injury is unknown. He will be returning to Spain to finish his recovery for the time being.
