Los Blancos suffered a setback when Karim Benzema sustained an injury just before some crucial matches
The score between Real Madrid and Valencia on Thursday night in La Liga was 2-0 and also the France star contributed two assists throughout the game but left with a limp after an hour. The striker’s injury would have alarmed Real Madrid because they have the Club World Cup and a Champions League match against Liverpool coming up.
But Real boss Carlo Ancelotti insisted that Benzema was taken off as a precaution and that the injury wasn’t serious after the game.
“Benzema is something very small, but Militao is not going to recuperate for Sunday,” the Italian coach remarked, according to the Daily Mirror.
Although Ancelotti believes that Benzema will be fine, it may be something to watch out for over the coming weeks as they prepare for their Champions League comeback. Benzema has had a difficult season with injuries.
In just 19 days, the first leg of their European match against Liverpool will take place at Anfield, while the return leg at the Bernabeu is scheduled for March 15.
