Lucas Vazquez not worried about his contract renewal.
The Spanish forward scored the winning goal in Madrid’s 2-0 win over Celta Vigo which helped them climb on top of the table for a brief period.
“I’m playing a lot and I’m very grateful for the opportunities that the manager has given me,” Vazquez said.
“I hope I can keep helping the team and my teammates. We’ll see what happens with the renewal. It’s not just down to me.”

Vasquez spoke about his team’s high press: “After the draw against Elche we wanted to play with aggression and press high up the pitch which helped us for the goal,” Vazquez continued.
“From now on everything is important. We’re in a good spell. The team is playing really well and we’re picking up wins. If we keep winning games we’ll have a chance to win things at the end of the season.”
“The league has been very competitive. There are no easy games because every team makes it difficult for us. Atletico has the advantage, but we’ll keep fighting right until the end for everything”.
