Luis Figo defends Bale's legacy at Real Madrid

Gareth Bale’s relationship with fans became sour in the final years.

The Welshman ended his nine-year spell with the Galacticos to join Los Angeles FC on a one-year deal.

He is undoubtedly one of the greatest Welsh players of all time but has struggled with injuries in recent times.

The five-time Champions League winner played a crucial role in most of those European games and also scored the winner in the 2014 final.

Sadly he managed only 27 appearances in his last two seasons and Figo claims fans should instead have a look at the positive side of Bale’s spell at Real Madrid.

“He was in Madrid for a long time. Part of that time he did very well. Performance wise, he achieved very important personal moments for the team,” Figo told Gambling Insider.

“But he had a lot of injuries too. The last part of his presence in the club was not so positive, because he didn’t play and because of injuries. I think in the last part, it could be better. But you cannot forget what he did for the club.”
