Karim Benzema’s spectacular 14-year career with Real Madrid came to an end at the end of the previous campaign
The former French international joined Al-Ittihad, becoming one of many well-known athletes to relocate to Saudi Arabia.
Not only Karim Benzema but also Luka Modric had the option to leave Real Madrid for the Middle East this summer after receiving a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian club.
He declined it though in order to agree to a one-year contract extension with Los Blancos.
Sport, however, has stated that Real Madrid thinks Modric has decided to travel to Saudi Arabia instead when his contract expires next summer. It is in line with rumours that he has given Arda Guler his number 10 jersey in the event that he leaves the team in 2024.
Due to his age of 38 in 2024, Modric is very likely to leave Real Madrid. If he does decide to travel to the Middle East and team up with Benzema, he will earn a sizable salary before calling it quits on his remarkable career.
