Nacho wants the team to improve defensively this season.
The Real Madrid centre-back has become one of the key members of the back-line.
He already has become a starter this season and believes they will have a good Champions League campaign this year.
Nacho explains: “We’ve had eight matches and I’ve only missed one and that was due to injury. If you look at those stats then yes, I think I am a starter. But, it’s true that there have also been a lot of injuries. I can better answer this question at the end of the season.
“I just want to play as many matches as possible and to fight to play at centre-back, which is the position I like best. I can play other positions too and that’s why I’ve played full-back, but the coach knows my best position is centre-back.”
Real Madrid will be facing Moldova debutants, Sheriff Tiraspol, on Tuesday night for their group-stage Champions League clash.
