Real Madrid faces huge blow in midfield section ahead of Napoli clash

Modric’s hamstring issue is not serious, and he will return to the side very soon.

Real Madrid face a big blow ahead of Champions League clash against Napoli on Wednesday night. Veteran midfielder Luka Modric will miss out the home game.

The 38-year-old limped off with some discomfort in his hamstring during Real Madrid’s win over Cadiz last weekend. Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was quick to play down the possible severity of the injury, stating: “Modric has an overload in his hamstring, I think that’s all.”

The Croatian midfielder will join Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga in the injury list. Modric will be back soon as he is recovering quickly.

Los Blancos will be looking to clinch the top spot in the group on Wednesday. Modric’s hamstring issue is not serious, and he will return to the side very soon.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will welcome Brahim Diaz who has recovered after a minor issue saw him end up as an unused substitute against Cadiz. He will replace Luka Modric in the side.
