Real Madrid reportedly want to seal the transfer of Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling in a potential £50million deal
After Eden Hazard’s lack of effect and the fact that Gareth Bale’s contract expires at the end of the season, the Spanish giants will almost certainly need to make changes in attack this summer.
Sterling, who has shown his world-class talent in the Premier League for much of the previous decade, is being pursued by Real Madrid in a potential £50 million transfer, according to the Daily Star.
The England international has a lot of respect for Los Blancos, so despite Arsenal’s interest, they should have the upper hand in the fight for his signature.
Arsenal was interested in Sterling, but their lack of Champions League experience will undoubtedly damage them.
Arsenal had a poor season and will need to make changes up front this summer, although a huge name like Sterling is unlikely to be available.
It would be intriguing to watch the 27-year-old try his luck elsewhere, and it would certainly be beneficial for him to get away from City now that he is no longer an automatic starter for Pep Guardiola’s team.
