Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, is rumoured to be interested in Nicolo Barella as the team makes plans for the future this summer

Fichajes claims that Ancelotti wants Barella and that the Inter Milan player is being considered as a possible replacement for players like Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Despite continuing to deliver world-class performances for the Spanish club, Kroos and Modric, who are 33 and 37 years old, respectively, are both nearing the conclusion of their careers.

As a result, the European juggernauts are eager to make sure they are set in that area for the future.

Although Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Federico Valverde have already proven their value at the Santiago Bernabeu, you’d like to think that Real is already in that position. Nevertheless, the club’s hierarchy clearly wants to continue stockpiling the best players in order to keep the club’s position as the best team in Europe.

Barella, who is 26 years old, would not be a bad choice for the Spanish team. The Inter Milan player is a pure centre midfielder with excellent match-controlling skills, and at a reported cost of €60 million, Ancelotti would be foolish not to sign a fellow countryman this summer.
