Real Madrid hit by Dani Carvajal’s extended injury layoff until 2023

Dani Carvajal, a seasoned Real Madrid defender, has been dealt a blow that will keep him on the bench for the rest of 2023. While initial reports suggested a less serious injury, Carvajal has now been identified with a left soleus injury that will keep him out for three to four weeks.

The blow comes at a difficult moment for Los Blancos, who have suffered a string of crucial player injuries this season.

Carvajal’s absence will be felt severely, as the Spanish veteran has been crucial to Real Madrid’s campaign, routinely delivering outstanding performances reminiscent of his prime.

The timing couldn’t be worse for the team, which has already suffered injuries to key players such as Thibaut Courtois, Aurelien Tchouameni, Vinicius Junior, and Eduardo Camavinga.

Real Madrid fans, who are already concerned about the club’s injury situation, now face the risk of Carvajal missing critical matches in the coming weeks.

With six games on the plate, the team’s depth will be tested, and manager Carlo Ancelotti will almost certainly look to versatile Lucas Vazquez to cover the spot at right-back.

Real Madrid is under increasing pressure to address their decreasing squad depth as speculation about prospective reinforcements in the January transfer window develops.

The team’s chances of winning the Spanish Super Cup will be based on their ability to traverse this difficult period without some of their primary contributors.

Only time will tell if Dani Carvajal’s absence is the turning point in what has already been an injury-plagued season for the Spanish giants.

Reece James of Chelsea is one player that has recently drawn interest from both Real Madrid and Manchester City. However, it appears that in the battle for the Englishman’s signature, the Galacticos are ahead.

It is simple to comprehend why James may be of interest to a team like Real Madrid. The defender is equally at ease playing at right-back and center-back. Additionally, Los Blancos might use some reinforcements on the defence given how inconsistent it has been this year. Dani Carvajal is no longer the player that he once was and Real Madrid needs to invest in a right-back for the future.

At the end of this season, Real Madrid could make a move for James but Chelsea would demand a hefty fee for their academy graduate. It remains to be seen what the La Liga giants can pull off in this winter.

4. Alex Grimaldo – Real Madrid transfer targets list

Alex Grimaldo

According to reports, Real Madrid and Benfica are in negotiations to sign Alex Grimaldo.

During the 2018–19 season, the 28-year-old has been in excellent form for Benfica, providing seven goals and nine assists in 48 games across all competitions.

However, according to reports in Spain, Madrid president Florentino Perez is negotiating a deal for the former Spain Under-21 international. A number of clubs have been linked to the full-back.

This year, Los Blancos have struggled at left-back, as neither Marcelo nor Sergio Reguilon have consistently been effective.

Before departing for Benfica in 2015, Grimaldo played nearly 100 times for the club’s B squad after progressing through Barcelona’s development system.

Real Madrid planning to make final offer for PSG star Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe’s contract will expire in the summer of 2024.

Real Madrid are reportedly planning to make a final offer for PSG forward Kylian Mbappe at the beginning of 2024. Los Blancos are keen to get him on board and they are trying to sign the Frenchman from the last two years.

Mbappe has been strongly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. They almost crossed the line last summer but it didn’t happen.

Real Madrid made a huge offer in 2021 which was around €200m but PSG refused to take this. They tried the same last summer but again, Mbappe didn’t go.

Kylian Mbappe’s contract will expire in the summer of 2024 and he wants to leave the club as a free agent. PSG tried hard to tie him down to a new contract but things didn’t work out.

Mbappe has no intention of triggering a one-year extension, leaving PSG at risk of losing their star striker for free next summer.

As per new reports, Real Madrid will not entertain another drawn-out transfer saga between January and July of next year. They have also kept Erling Haaland on their wishlist.

Former Madrid star faces uncertain future as Spanish Giants reject homecoming opportunity

The chance to have French defender Raphael Varane return to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu has apparently been turned down by the spainsh giants.

Following his absence by Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, the 30-year-old, who departed the Spanish powerhouses in 2021 for a term there, has been the focus of recent rumors over his future.

The World Cup winner claimed that he wanted to stay with the Red Devils, even though Varane was left off of the starting eleven in a recent 3-0 loss to Manchester City, which signaled a strained relationship between the player and his management.

Yet, there have been numerous transfer speculations involving him, with Bayern Munich and Saudi Arabian teams expressing interest.

According to Spanish news source Fichajes, Varane was offered to Real Madrid, his old team, with the intention of reviving his career in a familiar setting.

But Madrid unexpectedly declined the opportunity to re-add Varane to their lineup, as they are currently dealing with an injury issue on the defensive end.

Varane’s uncertain future is further complicated by the rejection, while teams like Juventus and Bayern Munich continue to keep an eye on the situation.

The defender may have difficulties at Old Trafford, but it appears that he will have to search elsewhere for a chance to play in La Liga given Real Madrid’s rejection.

Jude Bellingham has made an incredible start to his Real Madrid career.

The 20-year-old summer signing has been in spectacular form the Galacticos registerling 15 goals and four assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.

He has found the net in every Champions League game for the club this season and has drawn comparisons with Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane.

Bellingham’s impact has been compared with the Frenchman who is widely regarded as one of the club’s best-ever players.

The England international scored and assisted in Real Madrid’s 4-2 win over Italian giants Napoli in the Champions League.

He completed the game with 63 out of 68 passes with an accuracy of 93% and was phenomenal throughout the tie.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti was questioned about the similarities between Bellingham and Zidane but the Italian coach struggled to compare them.

“It’s hard to compare him with Zidane. They are two different generations. Bellingham has presence in the box that Zidane did not have and Zidane had an individual quality that Bellingham does not have,” he told reporters.

“Modern football wants players who are physically strong and able to cover a lot of field quickly.”

Real Madrid contemplates €25 million move for Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga

Real Madrid appears to be on the edge of completing a transaction that would change its goalkeeping dynamics, with rumors indicating the likelihood of signing Chelsea’s shot-stopper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, for a reputed sum of €25 million.

As reported by Fichajes, journalist Eduardo Inda said on the El Chiringuito de Jugones program:

“Real Madrid is thinking about hiring Kepa permanently. He has a contract with Chelsea until 2025 and it would cost about 25 million euros.”

The Spanish goalkeeper struggled to find his feet in the rigorous English Premier League after arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2018.

With Real Madrid facing an unforeseen setback before the start of the season owing to Thibaut Courtois’ ACL injury, the club sought a solution to strengthen their goalkeeping alternatives quickly.

Kepa, who was initially viewed with mistrust by supporters, has proved his worth during his loan spell with Los Blancos.

Real Madrid’s defensive record has improved noticeably this season under Kepa’s watchful eye. The question now is whether the club will make the loan move permanent. While Kepa’s achievements have not gone unnoticed, financial considerations must be taken into account, since €25 million is not a little sum.

Real Madrid, which requires reinforcements in several places, must carefully consider the possibility of a permanent deal against other pressing demands.

Kepa’s future playing time is also in doubt, with Courtois’ comeback looming. However, with Andriy Lunin slated to leave Real Madrid next summer, the club is at a crossroads in terms of establishing its goalkeeping lineup.

The decision to sign Kepa on a permanent basis could not only reshape the team’s defensive strategy but also set the tone for their ambitions in the seasons to come.
