Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is confident Everton fans will be with them for their Champions League final against Liverpool

In Ancelotti’s first season back in the Spanish capital, Los Blancos travel to the Stade de France with the goal of winning both the league and the European Cup.

Last month, Ancelotti won his first La Liga title, and he is sure of winning his fourth Champions League title as a manager in Paris.

However, as they prepare to face Jurgen Klopp’s charges tomorrow night, the Italians are enlisting an odd ally.

Ancelotti’s decision to return to Madrid after leaving Liverpool’s fierce local rivals Everton in the summer disturbed the blue half of Merseyside.

Despite his abrupt departure, his reputation at Goodison Park remains strong, and he is certain that the Toffees supporters will rally behind him against the Reds.

Everton fans, who notably supported Real Madrid against Liverpool in large numbers in 2018, will be energised by Ancelotti’s witty words, with Evertonians on social media already preparing for the game.

“I know that the Evertonians support us tomorrow for sure,” Ancelotti said at his pre-match press conference in Paris.

“I have good memories of my time spent on the blue side and I know they will support me.”

Ancelotti is set to be in the dugout for his fifth Champions League final at the Stade de France – no other manager has achieved this feat.
