Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has talked about their massive win in the derby over Atletico Madrid.
He said, “We’re on a good run of not conceding in the last three games. First away to Sevilla, then against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Champions League and today against Atlético, who were unbeaten in LaLiga. We’ve picked up nine points from nine, but that’s nothing, now we have to keep going in this direction. We hope we can continue like this and keep taking maximum points”.
“It’s a bit of an unusual season, with no preseason, injuries and as the games go by the players begin to reach their best level. The manager was direct with us. He wanted us to go for the game and that’s what we did right from the start. That was the key to winning. The team pushed forward and we put them under pressure in their own half. We also moved the ball around well. But they had two good chances and they didn’t take them”.
Real badly needed the last few wins and will hope to continue to keep that on as a series of big matches keep coming.
