'Florentino Perez Never Loses' - La Liga President Brings Up ESL Plans

La Liga president, Javier Tebas has hit out at Florentino Perez.

The Real Madrid president led the fight for the inception of the Super League, uniting 12 major European clubs.

Of course, all plans were binned after facing pushback from the entire footballing community. Perez was at the heart of the controversy but unlike his peers, has not given  up on the idea yet. He believes the league can still come to life and is publicly campaigning for it.

“Florentino Perez never loses, it’s like you don’t know him,” said Tebas. “This isn’t a personal issue, it’s just we have different ideas about football. Behind everything was Gianni Infantino, the FIFA president, pushing, saying things…”

“For me it’s not a fight against Perez, honestly. It’s a battle for the ecosystem of European football,” said Tebas at the event in Madrid. “Florentino has led this project, but it’s not a fight with him.

“What I mean is he’s a man you rarely hear admit he’s wrong.”

Real Madrid are one of the largest clubs in the world as are their rivals, Barcelona. Neither of the clubs pulled out of the Super League even when everybody else did.
