If Kylian Mbappe does not sign this summer, Real Madrid will turn to Juventus striker and Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic as an immediate fix for their No. 9 problems
In response to Karim Benzema’s departure, manager Carlo Ancelotti is allegedly still pressuring the Real Madrid board to recruit a new striker, according to Francisco Jose Delgado of SER Deportivos. When it became evident that Mbappe might become available, the club halted all major operations, including the tactician’s attempt to acquire Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.
Real Madrid’s interest in Mbappe is well known, but despite PSG’s decision to put the striker up for sale and banish him from the first-team squad, neither the club nor the player have taken any steps towards a trade this summer. While some sources claim that Mbappe and Madrid would both prefer a free move next year, it is thought that Los Blancos may hold out until the very end of the transfer window to exert pressure on PSG to sell the youngster for a reasonable price.
As a result, there is still some uncertainty as to whether the Frenchman will play this summer at the Santiago Bernabeu. Additionally, Real Madrid is currently considering Vlahovic as a last-resort option to bolster the No. 9 position in the event that Mbappe does not sign.
The 23-year-old Serbian international, whose market value is €70 million, is eager to leave Juventus, and the Bianconeri are also trying to sell him amid a flurry of financial difficulties. In addition to talking with Juve about a prospective deal that would see Romelu Lukaku move to the Allianz Stadium, Chelsea is interested in signing Vlahovic.
When the transfer window closes, Real Madrid may try to sign Vlahovic if that deal falls through and Mbappe does not arrive at the Bernabeu. It will be interesting to observe how this narrative develops over the next few weeks because there are many moving components involved.
