Karim Benzema’s departure from Real Madrid later this month is now a given, thus finding a successor will be a major priority during the summer transfer window

The Frenchman has been replaced, and a number of names have been floated, with Harry Kane allegedly Carlo Ancelotti’s top pick.

Kai Havertz is yet another Premier League player Real Madrid is interested in. Real Madrid may attempt to take advantage of Chelsea’s need to sell in order to comply with Financial Fair Play rules, and Bild (via Diario AS) has reported that Los Blancos are looking to sign the German international within the next few weeks.

Although the precise amount of Real Madrid’s “mega-offer” for Havertz is currently unknown. The 23-year-old has primarily played as a number 9 for Chelsea, but he can also play as a second striker, so it seems like plans to buy him are moving forward.

Harry Kane may also be targeted by Real Madrid, even if they pursue Havertz, as Ancelotti’s team appears to be in need of a major change this summer.

Havertz, who played as a striker for most of the current season despite being only 23 years old. He is more of a forward who likes to assist the striker from behind than he is a natural goal scorer.
