Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, is expected to be one of the most costly acquisitions of the summer transfer period

Bellingham, 19, is being pursued and sought after by a number of teams, including Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, and he appears to be poised to choose where he leaves the Bundesliga.

Even though Klopp’s Reds recently withdrew from the competition due to Dortmund’s exorbitant asking price (The Times), Real Madrid and Manchester City are still in the running to sign the gifted 19-year-old. However, it looks Carlo Ancelotti’s Los Blancos have taken the lead in the saga, despite Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City being on the verge of dominating domestic and European football.

Later this month, representatives from Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are expected to meet to discuss the financial aspects of bringing the English midfielder to the Santiago Bernabeu. According to transfer expert and CaughtOffside columnist Fabrizio Romano, these costs will include both an upfront fee and add-ons from the Spanish club.

Madrid are rumoured to be willing to wait until the conclusion of the season to negotiate out of respect for their European counterparts’ title challenge, with Dortmund in a two-horse fight with Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga crown and one point behind their rivals with only four games remaining.

The sky is the limit for Bellingham, the former Birmingham City star, regardless of what transpires this summer. At the age of 19, Bellingham is already sought after by some of the largest and most prominent clubs in the sport.
