Zidane supports Karim Benzema to win the top individual prize in world football.
Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane and former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger are backing Karim Benzema for the Ballon d’Or this year.
Zidane supports Real Madrid striker to win the top individual prize in world football. Zidane himself won this award in 1998 and he believes that he is head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.
Zidane told Telefoot, “Karim is in fine form. I would give him the Ballon d’Or. He deserves it. Benzema deserves it. He is an incredible player, I had the great honour of coaching him.”
“He knows how to do everything on the field. He is above [everyone] and I hope he can be rewarded with this Ballon d’Or,” Zidane also added.
Arsene Wenger also feels the same as the Real Madrid striker merits the prize. Ex-Arsenal coach stated, “There are no outright favourites this year. In terms of individual performance and consistency, Benzema is at the highest level. The uncertainty is: will the weight of trophies play a decisive role?”
