Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior should both be able to play in Sunday’s Madrid derby, according to Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti

Fans have been concerned about Bellingham and Vinicius’s health as Ancelotti’s team prepares to face Atletico on Sunday night. Unlike the latter, who has been sidelined for a few weeks due to a hamstring injury, goalscoring sensation Bellingham was forced to leave practise on the day of the match due to illness.

Madrid would suffer a severe setback if they were to be without their two probably best goal threats, but happily, Ancelotti anticipates seeing both players in action on Sunday.

The manager said, starting with Bellingham, “It was a tiny thing. Although he felt sick, he is now OK. He’ll be there for the game. Regarding Vinicius, Ancelotti disclosed that the Brazilian forward had returned to training and was prepared to resume competitive play, despite not yet being fully healthy.

“The injury is forgotten,” he acknowledged. He will be on the team. We’ll find out tomorrow what part he plays in the game.” When asked if bringing Vinicius back for this game was a danger, Ancelotti responded, “The risk is nothing. We won’t take it if we believe there is a 1% risk tomorrow. The fact that Vinicius has recovered is what matters. He is a little underconditioned, but that is typical.

Madrid still without both centre back Eder Militao and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, but there was good news regarding midfielder Arda Guler, who underwent knee surgery soon after joining the team this summer.
