Eder Militao Being Lined Up By Liverpool For A January Switch

Liverpool are increasingly stepping up their interest in Real Madrid’s Eder Militao.

Not many rate him at the club after his £43m switch from FC Porto in 2019.

Militao has struggled to meet expectations and right now he is way down the pecking order. Many thought he would replace Sergio Ramos in the long term but that seems highly unlikely at this point.

The Brazilian is still young and talented. Two seasons with injuries and sporadic playing time is not enough to judge him. Real are not at their best on the defensive end either and Zinedine Zidane has requested the Galactico heads to keep him. Should their be an injury crisis, Militao can come handy.

Before his transfer to Real, the centre-half was rated highly across Europe. Jurgen Klopp wants to bring him to Anfield and unlock his potential. There will be plenty of opportunities for Militao to impress at Liverpool since both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are out for the season.

Serious injuries to his starting centre-backs has created a serious issue for Klopp. The German has expertly cruised past his own crisis as the Reds sit top but the season is far from over. There are serious challengers ready to take Liverpool’s throne and Militao could help matters from January.
