La Liga president didn't expect Jude Bellingham to perform high in Spain

Jude Bellingham has been outstanding since his debut at Real Madrid.

La Liga president Javier Tebas admits on Thursday that “nobody expected” that Jude Bellingham would perform like this as he scored five goals in his first four games with Real Madrid in his debut season.

Tebas said in quotes picked up by Relevo, after presenting a report with the salary cap for La Liga clubs, “To be the best in the world you have to look at a number of seasons. Nobody expected him to score so many goals at this stage. They are the players who make the league better.”

“With that figure, they could pay for Kylian Mbappé and maybe others as well. I have the feeling that they have enough to do all of that,” said Tebas.

Jude Bellingham has been a great addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad. He moved from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid in the summer. The Englishman has been outstanding since his debut.

The president of La Liga also had spoke about Barcelona’s salary cap, which will be €270m for the season. He said, “Barcelona have made an effort to reduce their wage bill by a very large amount. We have to recognise the effort.”
