Alvaro Odriozola, a defender for Real Madrid, is awaiting a summer approach from Real Sociedad despite interest from teams like Juventus and Athletic Club
This assertion is made by Mundo Deportivo, who claim that despite La Real’s lack of interest in investing significantly in his signing, Odriozola is still hopeful for a transfer to Sociedad to occur this summer.
Odriozola rose through the ranks at Real Sociedad and gained experience with San Sebastian’s first squad before being snatched up by Real Madrid for €32 million in 2018.
Although the Spaniard had loan periods abroad at Bayern Munich and Fiorentina, nothing ever quite clicked for him at the Santiago Bernabeu. Odriozola played just six times for Los Blancos last season, and it is obvious that Carlo Ancelotti does not have any ambitions for him. And because his contract expires in the summer of 2019, Real Madrid is eager to unload him this year.
As said before, Athletic Club and Juventus are both interested, while Sociedad has also expressed some interest. Odriozola, however, is waiting for them in the hopes that they will make an approach since he wants to sign for his previous team. Real Madrid is trying to at least partially recoup the cost of purchasing Odriozola. As previously said, Sociedad does not want to make a significant investment in him. They already have a few right-back options, so they do not view him as a crucial addition.
They would only contemplate signing the right-back if he were to arrive for a low price or even for free, something that Real Madrid are unlikely to permit. Because the player simply wants to return to Sociedad and is waiting for movement while on vacation in the Bahamas, it complicates the transfer.
