Los Blancos have monitored the progress of the 20-year-old who has come through the youth ranks of Penarol.
Rodriguez has made nine appearances for Penarol’s U-19 side. He has conceded seven goals and secured two clean sheets in all competitions.
The young talent will see his contract expire at the end of this year. Real Madrid can arrange a cut-price move for him soon. However, he is still quite inexperienced and would need time to settle into life in Spanish football.
